Bride and Prejudice's Philippa and Ry are every bit the perfect couple. Clearly completely in love, and living together as one big happy family along with Philippa's two children from a previous relationship. There was just one catch- their eighteen year age difference. Yep, Philippa is 39 to Ry's 21, and although it wasn't at all an issue in their books, the same couldn't be said for Philippa's parents, Peter and Gunilla. In fact, when Philippa informed them of her engagement, Peter congratulated her on the 'new child in the family.' Yeah, ouch. From that moment on Peter and Gunilla were fixated on wanting the couple to have a pre-nup drawn up, in fear of Ry simply being after Philippa's money. The couple agreed to the contract in order to keep the peace, and were rewarded with Peter and Gunilla finally accepting their relationship and the fact Ry isn't a gold digger. Phewf!
With any disapproval out of their way the couple could make their vows, which were both super sweet and also utterly practical. They included lines about Ry agreeing to constantly carry a pack of anti-bacterial wipes in order to appease germophobe Philippa, as well as Philippa promising to be Ry's "calm harbour in the storm." Aw! Congratulations to the happy couple.
