Is Brisbane Journalist Alana Lowes the Dark Horse of MasterChef Australia?
Alana as the Dark Horse: Could She Win MasterChef?
MasterChef said a big hello to New York as the top eight amateurs jetted to the Big Apple for a jam-packed week of culinary adventures! Now that we’re getting to the pointy end of the competition, we’re starting to see more of certain contestants who have managed to fly under the radar so far — particularly Alana Lowes. The Brisbane journalist is starting to emerge as a real contender, as demonstrated by her leadership during the France vs. England team challenge last week (which resulted in her and Billy getting to fly business class to New York) and the praise she received for her Greek-inspired smoked lamb racks last night. Leading up to this point she’s had a few standout dishes, including the stone fruit dessert she cooked at Greenhouse by Joost challenge, and has managed to steer clear of all pressure tests so far (though we haven’t actually seen many of her dishes on the Sunday night episodes).
If there’s any time to start stepping up it’s now, as flying under the radar can only get you so far — and it seems like that’s exactly what Alana’s doing, whether she planned it or not! What say you — do you think Alana will win MasterChef this year?
