Following on from Russell Brand’s touching piece about Amy Winehouse, British songbird Adele has also blogged about the singer on her website. In a short article titled “Amy Flies in Paradise X,” Adele wrote, “we believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about british music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing. i don’t think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming.” Many stars also expressed their sorrow over Amy’s death on Twitter.

It has been reported that Amy’s funeral will take place tomorrow, keeping with Jewish tradition that her body be laid to rest three days after her passing. According to People, the cause of Amy’s death is still unknown — she was found in her bed by her security guard and was not surrounded by drugs or other substances. Her parents Mitch and Janis, and boyfriend Reg Traviss, have mourned Amy outside her home in London.
