Chantal sent home from Australia's Next Top Model after Megan Gale swimwear challenges

Australia’s Next Top Model Recap: Swim Fans

Last night’s episode of Australia’s Next Top Model was all about getting in the swim of things and I have to say I was not very happy with the way things worked out. But before we get to that, let’s have a splash around the paddling pool.

Go for the Gold: Olympic swimmer Michael Klim stopped by for a swim in the Top Model pool and put the girls through their paces. And they actually knew who he was. Jumpy claps! It was a bit unsettling to see how unfit all the girls were. Doesn’t anyone go to the gym? Eh, why bother when you have a high metabolism.

A Tozzi in her Cossie: Model Cheyenne Tozzi stopped by in her swimmers to show the girls how to pose in a skimpy bathing suit. Cue Kimberly meltdown. She has an aversion to swimwear—even though she was a Gold Coast Meter Maid and lived in a bikini. Go figure. After throwing a tanty and packing her bags, she eventually decided to stay in the competition. Whatev. Keep reading . . .

Megan Gale Force: For the challenge, the girls had to audition to be models in Megan Gale’s parade for her new swimwear range called Isola (island in Italian). Joanna was able to with her attitude and walk, while Catherine and Sophie had to sit this one out. Cringe. Joanna opened and closed the show and won a trip to Hayman Island.

Bra Girls: This week’s photo shoot was held at freezing cold Maroubra Beach in Sydney. Sophie and Chantal both got hair extensions and most of the girls did a decent job in the frigid conditions. After the shoot, Josh made Sophie go back to Joh Bailey’s salon and get ALL of her hair chopped off. Say what?? But then when she was at the elimination, she seemed to be embracing her new pixie cut. Really? Did I miss something? Sophie’s hair was her LIFE. Does not compute.

Departure Lounge: It’s getting to the point in the competition where ALMOST everyone is good (*cough Kimberly *cough) and it makes it even harder to decide who should go. Balsa wood Britney came to life and Kathryn managed to save herself from the chopping block but the judges thought Chantal lost her spark and said Kimberly’s behaviour was unacceptable.

Back to Bankstown: It was Chantal vs Kimberly and my homegirl Chantal was sent back to Bankstown! Oh no they d’int! Sure,Chantal has some posture issues, but that was nothing compared to Kimberly’s attitude. And I’m sorry but her photo was not all that.

What did you think about the episode? Did the right person go home?
