We Believe! Here's Cher's Entire Performance at Mardi Gras in Sydney
Legendary singer and gay icon Cher took the stage for her slated performance at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion early Sunday morning, hours after surprising revellers by walking the 2018 Mardi Gras parade on Oxford Street.
Scheduled to perform between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., the 71-year-old superstar performed for 22 glorious minutes, belting out hit after hit and giving the thousands of audience members exactly the kind of show they were hoping for.
After finishing her opening song, Cher took a moment to address the mostly LGBTQI+ crowd, saying, "I know from my heart and my insides what you guys have been going through your entire lives and I'm sure, and I pray, and I think, that it's all going to be changing, so I'm really happy."
In light of Australia recently legalising same-sex marriage, and the record turnout at the Mardi Gras parade — 300,000 people watched 12,000 people taking part in the festivities — we think Cher is 100 percent correct. Watch her entire performance below!
