The Collective Performance Video of Domino on The X Factor Australia 2012 Live Show

The X Factor's Super Group The Collective Wows in First Live Show

I’ll be honest: when I first heard The X Factor was out to recreate the success of One Direction by putting together a boy band, I had my doubts, because I felt it would seem too forced and that the public wouldn’t buy into it. But all my doubts were erased when the ‘super group’, The Collective, took to the stage for their first live show performance last night. Julian Devezio, Trent Bell, Jayden Sierra, Wil Singe and Zach Russell rose to the occasion when they sang Jessie J’s “Domino” in a performance that included “ambitious” staging — they descended from the ceiling — and impressive light work. Each boy had a fair amount of solo time, and in their co-ordinating black and white outfits they certainly looked the part of a boy band. By the end of the song, their mentor Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Guy Sebastian were on their feet, with Mel B weighing in that they were the most “exciting” performance of the night.
