Comedian Jordan Paris Caught Out Using Jeff Ross Joke During Australia's Got Talent Semi Final

Jordan Paris Caught Out With Another Unoriginal Joke on AGT

Jordan Paris was under high scrutiny when he performed on the Australia’s Got Talent semi final on Tuesday night. It was a chance for the Gold Coast stand-up comedian to redeem himself after it turned out that the jokes he used in his audition round — the ones that received plenty of laughs from the audience and high praise from the judges — weren’t his own. His semi-final routine didn’t go very well, with the crowd and judges looking uncomfortable as he tried to joke about his situation. Then last night, A Current Affair revealed that Jordan’s opening line, “I just sacked my two writers: copy and paste,” is also recycled material, taken from American comedian Jeff Ross. (Jeff was at a comedy roast in 2009 when he joked of actor Brad Garrett, “This guy has two writers, their names are cut and paste.”) Whether Jordan was aware of Jeff’s routine is unknown, but it would’ve been unwise for him to rip off another joke when he knew all eyes would be on him. Do you think it was deliberate or a coincidence?
