Contestant on Australia's Next Top Model told to lose weight

Australia’s Next Top Model Mentor Tells Contestant She’s Too Fat...Discuss

Australia’s Next Top Model doesn’t return until July, but the show is already causing controversy. A 16-year-old contestant says a “mentor” on the show told her she needed to lose “centimetres from her thighs.” Alison Boxer, who weighs 55 kg, says, “It was a shock to the system to be told I needed to lose weight. At home a lot of people say I’m too skinny. I was 50kg at one stage, which I thought was a bit scary.” Alison says she was one of four girls told to lose weight just a week into the competition. A Foxtel spokesperson confirmed Alison was told to shed a centimetre around her waist. What do you think? Should contestants on the show be told to slim down?
