Controversial MasterChef contestant Claire Winton Burn is engaged. The aspiring chef made headlines for her cooking as well as her love life during her time on the show. Claire is now set to marry her partner Trevor and says she hope to start a family with him in the future. The pair were colleagues at law firm Clayton Utz when Trevor then left his wife and newborn baby to live with Claire. She had her personal life scrutinised while on the show, with some people labellingher a “homewrecker.” Claire tells TV Week that she feels guilty for putting her family in the spotlight, but says it hasn’t affected her relationship with Trevor. She explained:
There have been a lot of factual inaccuracies and it’s certainly been a difficult time for Trevor but he’s been incredibly strong and amazingly supportive. He’s been behind me 100 per cent. It hasn’t put any strain on our relationship at all.
She finished third in the competition amid claims that her personal life may have cost her the title. But Claire says she’s trying not to focus on the bashings she’s received on online forums, adding, “It’s obviously hurtful and affects you, but everyone is entitled their opinion. I’m not going to win everyone over.” Do you think Claire’s complicated personal life may have cost her the MasterChef title?
