Ed Sheeran is bringing us a roller coaster mix of smiles and tears thanks to his incredible moment with a dying fan. Triona Priestley, a 15-year-old girl from Dublin, Ireland, had been battling cystic fibrosis since she was a little girl. Just before she lost her battle to the disease, though, her friends and family took to Twitter to grant her one last wish. Shortly thereafter, Twitter lit up with pleas, #SingForTri began to trend, and Ed Sheeran arranged a call with his ailing fan.
According to reports, Ed sang Triona's favourite song, "Little Bird," and she passed away minutes after receiving the call. The story serves as a reminder that social media can do a lot of good, and there's a lot of beauty in the smallest act of kindness. Ed seemed moved by the whole experience, as he tweeted in memory of Triona shortly after she passed:
Rest in peace Triona, so heartbreaking x
