Ellen DeGeneres Talks to Oprah About Montecito Mudslides

Ellen and Oprah Have an Emotional Discussion About the Devastating Mudslides in Montecito

Ellen DeGeneres took time out of her talk show on Thursday to address the devastating mudslides in Montecito, California, where she and wife Portia de Rossi have a home. At least 13 people were killed this week when heavy rain caused flash floods and mudslides in the small Santa Barbara neighbourhood, which was also hit with wildfires in December. Another famous resident of the community is Oprah Winfrey, who joined Ellen via FaceTime to shed more light on the horrific situation.

The morning after making a powerful and inspiring speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Oprah saw the real depth of the devastation. "All of my neighbours homes are gutted," she told the audience, panning to a muddy, empty area. She also showed a group of firefighters and rescue teams who were walking along the debris and looking for victims. Watch their conversation in the video above now.
