Ghost in the Shell Movie Trailers and Australian Release

Watch Ghost in the Shell's 6 (Yes, 6) Creepy-Cool Teaser Trailers

Instead of releasing a minute-long teaser trailer for Ghost in the Shell, Paramount decided to break it down into six individual clips, each coming in at about 10 seconds long and giving us ever-the-slightest glimpse at how the already-controversial film is going to take shape. The movie initially got people talking due to Scarlett Johansson, a white woman, being cast as popular manga character Major Motoko Kusanagi, a Japanese law enforcement agent who happens to be a cyborg. Ill-advised whitewashing aside, the new trailers suggest that at the very least the big-screen adaptation will stay true to the dark, moody vibe that Ghost in the Shell creator Masamune Shirow perfected in his anime series. Watch each teaser below to see Motoko interacting with a human, charging herself like you would an iPhone, stumbling upon some kind of cult, and more before it arrives in cinemas on March 30, 2017.
