We've been waiting forever to see Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern (the EW cover doesn't count) and the trailer gives us a nice reward: before he dons the green suit, he's practically naked. After you see the superhero body, we get a taste of Green Lantern (aka Hal Jordan)'s backstory: he's a test pilot, he's a ladies' man, and he's got a bossy co-pilot (courtesy of a brunette Blake Lively). He quips that when he's flying, "anything's possible"—and that's when the limits of possibility are stretched beyond his imagination. A dying alien entrusts a magic ring to Hal, instilling the responsibility of defending a universe he never knew existed. Though Hal is skeptical about his ability to be a superhero, his powers are as undeniable as Peter Sarsgaard's delightfully hideous villain look. The movie promises pure fantastical fun, and there's no muting the comic book origins in this one. It only took two views to get me officially pumped, so watch for yourself after the jump.
