Has Masterchef Turned Into a Group Therapy Session?

Every time I’ve tuned into Masterchef this season it seems to be all about drama, tears and meltdowns. On Monday night, the group had to create a dish that reflected their childhood. Cut to teary shots of contestants talking about their lost loved ones. Pass the tissue box. Adele looks like she’s about ready to burst into tears every episode and we’re always hearing about how Claire is so over her job as a lawyer and Sarah wants to leave the police force and focus on her family. Does EVERYONE need career counselling or group therapy? What do you think about Masterchef this season? Is there too much emotion? Should the focus be more about the food?
