Hey Dad! Star Robert Hughes Denies Sex Abuse Allegations

Robert Hughes, the star of Australian TV sitcom Hey Dad!, has denied allegations he sexually abused his on-screen daughter while filming the show. Child star Sarah Monahan alleged last week she was molested by a male on the series. A Current Affair broke the story and has statutory declarations from women naming Hughes, who played Martin Kelly on the show, as the person who molested them. Hughes, who now lives in Singapore, told ACA: "I absolutely deny anything. I’m absolutely puzzled as to why this is being said now. Everything is now in the hands of defamation lawyers." A NSW Police spokesman said they had received a number of tip-offs about the show, but so far no complaints had been filed.
