Logie Watch: Alf Finally Gets a Gold Logie Nomination!
Flamin’ heck! After 22 loooong years of playing Alf Stewart on Home and Away, actor Ray Meagher finally got a shout-out today and earned his first Gold Logie nomination. He also was nominated for a Silver Logie in the most popular actor category. The Summer Bay soapie led the field with 11 nominations, followed by Packed to the Rafters with eight and the second series of Underbelly with five. Alf will go up against his co-star Esther Anderson for the Gold Logie, along with last year’s winner, Rebecca Gibney. Also up for the top award are Wil Anderson, Adam Hills, Paul McDermott, Rove McManus and Shaun Micallef. The noms were announced this morning and the show will be held Sunday, May 2 in Melbourne and hosted by Bert Newton. Click here for the full list of nominations.
