House Rules: Are Tasmania's Brooke and Grant Playing Dirty?
Source: Channel Seven
Tasmanian House Rules contestants Brooke and Grant were pegged in promos for the show as typical Aussie battlers with a strong determination to win the game — whatever the cost.
If last night's episode of the hit renovation show was anything to go by, Brooke and Grant aren't backing away from their goals any time soon. The couple, who have seven children under the age of 10 between them, were the fourth couple to leave their house in the hands of their competitors, and they seemed blown away by the total redesign of their home. When it came time for scoring, everyone was fairly comfortable that they'd come off well but Brooke and Grant had other ideas. They gave both NSW's Candy and Ryan and QLD's Maddi and Lloyd fairly low scores of 5 out of 10. Considering both those teams had just fared well with the professional judges, some saw team Tassie's harsh scoring as a strategic move.
As we know, this is a game where the winner takes all — "all" being their mortgage paid off in full — so we suppose we can't blame Brooke and Grant for doing everything they can to win. Do you think their scores were fair? One thing's for sure: Australia is loving this show. Last night, House Rules trumped The Voice in the ratings for the first time, pulling in over 2.5 million viewers across the country.
