Dani From The Bachelor Was "Mortified" With How She Came Across on TV
Remember Dani Sanby from The Bachelor? She was the petite brunette who worked in events, and she came across as a “sexually-aggressive psycho” — her words! Dani made the top four girls but didn’t find her happy ever after with Tim Robards, and now she’s the ambassador for Five in Five, an initiative that sees single people get sponsored to go on five dates in five weeks, with money raised going to charity. Interestingly, Dani isn’t available; she met her current boyfriend soon after leaving the show. So how is she going to go on five dates with five different guys? We asked Dani about her five-date plan, and she also gave POPSUGAR Australia the scoop on how she felt about her portrayal on The Bachelor, and which girls she still keeps in touch with.
POPSUGAR Australia: What has your love life been like since your time on The Bachelor?
Dani: Since The Bachelor, I guess it’s been interesting. I’m actually in a relationship at the moment. I got into one quite soon after the show, which was kind of surprising. But it’s going really well.
PS: I’ve heard that happened to a lot of the girls.
Dani: I think the experience . . . I think we went through so much emotionally that it probably attracted lots of male attention, and it all worked out for the best, with some of us.
PS: So with you being in a relationship, how does this work with Five in Five?
Dani: [Laughs] I guess being an ambassador, now I’ll be doing mates dates, so it will be a chance for me to get set up with people that’s not so much about romance. But I’ll still get to meet people and raise money, and get out of my comfort zone a little bit.
PS: And your current boyfriend is OK with you going on these mates dates?
Dani: [Laughs] Yeah, he is. Strictly mates dates!
PS: At least you have the charity angle. And with Five in Five, you have to set up your own dates, or your friends and family have to help out, right?
Dani: Yep. So it’s kind of about putting it out to your network, and getting them to put people forward. I’ll just be using social media, so my Facebook, which is more private, and then Instagram. I’m gonna put it out there and decide from there who to choose.
PS: Do you have your five dates lined up, or are you still working through what you’ll do?
Dani: I’ve got each one planned but I’m going to put it out each week. I’ve got what I think we should do, so I might ask who wants to do something like this, like something adventurous, and then pick someone that way.
PS: So this could be very interesting.
Dani: Hopefully it’s not someone too strange! [Laughs]
