PS: Did you have any dealbreakers before you went into the show?
Simone: Yeah, so the dealbreakers for me were no smoking, no drugs and not to have children of their own already.
PS: How are your feelings towards Xavier at this point?
Simone: We’ve just moved in together. It’s good, it’s just getting back into a routine of work and me time. I’ve come to realise Xavier is a stickler for routine — he is literally by the minute. Xavier’s the sort of person who finds it difficult to shut off after work, where I’m the kind of person who’s like, "I’m home, let’s chill out, go to dinner." His mind is just racing, so going forward that’s what we try and balance.
PS: So he’s willing to compromise? You can work through it?
Simone: At this stage, I’m ready to compromise. When I make decisions, I’m thinking of Xavier and putting him first. I’m in his home though, so it’s a little bit different for me. I’m coming into a new space where I’m finding it’s easy for me to compromise because I’m in [his] face. It’s his home, so to change things, it’s like, "Hey, this is my place." At the same time, he’s never lived with a partner before, whereas I have, so it’s all very new for him.
PS: So you’re happy at this point that you signed up? Are you enjoying the experience?
Simone: Yeah. I went into it thinking, no matter how it turns out, if I end up with a person — great. If I don’t, that’s OK. I gave it my all and was given this opportunity for a reason, I’m happy whatever the outcome. No regrets!
