Jack Vidgen Wins Australia's Got Talent 2011, Winning $250,000 and a Sony Record Deal

Jack Vidgen Is the Winner of Australia's Got Talent!

As most of us predicted, Jack Vidgen is the winner of Australia’s Got Talent! We already knew that the 14-year-old schoolboy was exceptionally talented, and now he’s won $250,000 as a result of sharing his voice with the nation. As yesterday’s grand final commenced in spectacular style with a group performance, the 10 remaining acts were gradually eliminated until only Jack and Melbourne illusionist Cosentino remained as the final two. They both performed on the AGT stage for the last time — Jack sang “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” again while Cosentino wowed again with his illusion-dancing hybrid act — before Jack was finally announced as the winner of the series! (It was quite a drawn-out announcement!) At the time, a shocked Jack said, “I can’t believe it’s happened. It’s incredible, I never thought I’d do anything like this,” before thanking the public for supporting him. Aside from the huge cash prize, which his mother Rachel said “is more money than I can even comprehend,” Jack reportedly signed a music contract with Sony and is set to release his original song “Yes I Am” today. Congratulations, Jack!
