Animal Kingdom star Jacki Weaver scored a Golden Globe nomination today for best supporting actress. She joins past Aussie winners Geoffrey Rush, Nicole Kidman and Toni Collette who also picked up nominations for the 68th Golden Globe Awards. Jacki will be up against Amy Adams, Helena Bonham Carter, Mila Kunis and Melissa Leo. Geoffrey Rush’s film, The King’s Speech, led the pack with seven nominations, including a best supporting actor nod for his role. He will compete against Christian Bale, Michael Douglas, Andrew Garfield and Jeremy Renner. Nicole Kidman received a nomination for her role as a grieving parent in Rabbit Hole and will be up against Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams. In the TV category, Toni Collette was once again nominated for best actress in a television series for United States of Tara. She took home the award last year. She’ll be competing against Edie Falco, Tina Fey, Laura Linney and Lea Michele. The Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by British comedian Ricky Gervais in Los Angeles on January 16.
