Janelle Monae Speech at the 2018 Grammys

Janelle Monáe's Powerful Time's Up Speech Deserves Its Own Damn Grammy

Tons of celebrities showed up to Monday's Grammys wearing white roses to show support for the Time's Up movement, but Janelle Monáe took things a step further when she got on stage to introduce Kesha. Janelle took the opportunity to give a passionate speech in honour of the powerful movement. "To those who would dare try and silence us, we offer you two words: Time's up. We say time's up for pay inequality, discrimination or harassment of any kind, and the abuse of power," she told the crowd. "We have the power to change the culture that does not serve us . . . We come in peace, but we mean business." We couldn't have said it better ourselves, Janelle.
