Jessica and Isabel Reach Mt. Kilimanjaro’s Summit
They did it! After six days of climbing, Jessica Biel, Isabel Lucas, Emile Hirsch and other celeb climbers reached the 19,340 foot summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro Tuesday. After enduring torrential rain and a blizzard, the group started their final ascent of the African mountain at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. They climbed for seven hours and finally reached Uhuru Peak, where they posed for a photo holding a sign that read “SEND WATER.” The group is doing the climb to raise awareness about the global water crisis. Because the temperatures were in the single digits, they could only hang out at the summit for 45 minutes. Emile said, “The last 48 hours have been the most intense and physically grueling experience of my life. Miraculously, we all made it to the top together. To have such a complete success for such a worthwhile cause—the global clean water crisis—more than reaching the summit is what is really satisfying.” Well done!
