Jessica Biel and Isabel Lucas Hit by Blizzard During Trek

With just one day left of climbing, Isabel Lucas, Jessica Biel and other celebrity climbers had to battle a blizzard during their quest to conquer Mt. Kilimanjaro. The group is attempting to climb Africa’s highest mountain to raise awareness about the global shortage of clean drinking water. When the group reached 16,000 feet, several people experienced headaches and stomach problems due to the high altitude, in addition to the harsh conditions. Elizabeth Gore, one of the participants on the trek said, “It’s pretty gnarly. The visibility is only 10 feet in front of you. And it’s cold. I’ve got six layers on. We’re on the hardest route at the fastest pace, but no one has turned back.” You can track the group’s progress on the Summit on the Summit website.
