For twelve years, eco beauty brand Aveda has been celebrating Earth Month and has raised more than US$18 million for organisations that directly affect environmental change. One of their events is the annual Walk for Water, which takes place this Sunday, April 17, in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. As you can guess from the name of the event, money raised goes towards water-related causes, and this year funds raised will go towards the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal to help those affected by the natural disasters in Queensland.
Journalist and former MasterChef host Sarah Wilson has stepped onboard as an ambassador for the walk, and she says, “My deepest thoughts are with the Queenslanders who have been ravaged by Mother Nature and are left with nothing. Tens of thousands of families lost their homes when nature unleashed its fury, first with the devastating floods and then with a chaotic cyclone. I can’t wait to show my support and raise funds for the victims on April 17 at the annual Aveda ‘Walk for Water’ with friends, family and the Australian public.” So join Sarah and get your walking shoes out this Sunday for an excellent cause!
Check Aveda’s Facebook page for details of where the walk is taking place in your city.
