Kanye West started a feud with Jimmy Kimmel last night, taking to Twitter to send out an all-caps rant against the talk show host for spoofing the rapper's recent BBC Radio 1 interview on Wednesday night (see the skit above). Kanye called Jimmy "out of line" and lobbed insults at the comedian, including a claim that "Sarah Silverman is a thousand times funnier" than Jimmy. The host addressed Kanye's epic rant on his show last night, alleging that Kanye called him yesterday and told him that he had to publicly apologise or he would ruin his life. Jimmy said during his monologue, "The other choice he gave was that my life — 'Your life,' he said, 'is going to be much better if you apologise.' Then he started tweeting." He also said that Kanye told Jimmy that he'll "never be able to show [his] face at a 14-year-old's high school football game and be cool again."
While Kanye is known for stirring up controversy, we can't help but be suspicious of the feud. Jimmy has tricked us before (remember the twerk fail girl?), and he even addressed claims of a hoax on Twitter yesterday, saying that it is not a prank "unless it's being played" on him. Kanye's tweets and responses to Jimmy are too silly, too hilariously overinflated, even for the famously self-aggrandizing performer.
Do you think Kanye's beef with Jimmy is fake — even if Jimmy isn't in on the prank? Share your thoughts in our poll below.
