The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent the first part of their trip to the US apart as Prince William travelled to Washington DC on Monday morning US time to attend a special conference on behalf of his conservation charities and Kate Middleton stayed behind in NYC to visit local children. The duchess was seen arriving at the NorthsideCenter for Child Development in Harlem, where she met New York City's first lady, Chirlane McCray, to learn about the child centre. Afterwards, Kate greeted a group of children who had lined up outside the centre, accepting flowers and chatting with one lucky little boy. She will later attend a lunch at the British Consul General's residence in the city to celebrate the achievements of the British community in the Big Apple.
While in DC, William will join William Hague to attend the International Corruption Hunters Alliance conference at the World Bank to discuss transportation across borders of illegal wildlife parts. He will also attend a lunch to meet with various representatives from different conservation organizations. He will later travel back to NYC to meet with Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton at the British Consul General's residence to attend a reception about conservation. While this sounds like a lot, it isn't even half of the couple's trip — be sure to get all the details about Will and Kate's first visit to NYC!
