He beat out Mike Leigh for Another Year, Scott Silver, Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Keith Dorrington for The Fighter, Christopher Nolan for Inception, and Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg for The Kids Are All Right.
