Screen legends Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty hit the stage at the end of the show to announce the coveted Best Picture award. After seemingly getting confused at what was in the envelope, Warren showed it to Faye who, assuming Warren needed help reading, announced the winner as La La Land. As the cast and crew of La La Land were accepting their award, showrunners ran onstage to announce that a mistake had been made: Moonlight was the actual winner.
After moments of shock and confusion, the team behind Moonlight climbed the stage to accept their rightful reward, while the team from La La Land retreated. It was easily the most dramatic moment we've seen on TV in a long time — in fact, words don't do it justice. Watch the video below.
