Lady Gaga Volunteers at Red Cross Shelter During Woolsey Fire: "Let's Keep the Faith Together"

Lady Gaga helped out at a Red Cross shelter in Southern California to support those in need during the ongoing Woolsey Fire. The singer, who was forced to evacuate her own home in Malibu, spent Sunday evening at Palisades Charter High School, which transformed its gym into a shelter for evacuees. According to TMZ, Gaga handed out gift cards, took photos with people, and sang to a 98-year-old woman who had to leave her home. She gave an encouraging speech to the room and extended her love to everyone in a video obtained by TMZ.

"This is not easy. I know this is not easy," Gaga said. "And I know that a a lot of you are feeling a lot of pain right now and a lot of shock, and this might feel very surreal. I know that I feel kind of in a daze. And I'm not really sure exactly when or how this is gonna hit me. What I can tell you is that I will pray for each and every one of you. You will be in my thoughts. I extend my love to each and every one of you. I know we do not know each other, but I love you. This is an emergency, but you are not alone and we have each other."

Gaga urged everyone not to forget to take care of their mental health, saying, "What I'd like to encourage you to do even though it might be hard is to share your stories and talk to each other during this time. There's a wonderful mental health team here. Let's keep the faith together. Please do not discount your mental health during this time. It's so important that you take care of what's going on in your head and your heart."

As of Tuesday morning, the Woolsey fire in Southern California has burned more than 90,000 acres and claimed two lives so far. Meanwhile, the Camp fire in Northern California has burned more than 117,000 acres and claimed at least 42 lives, becoming the state's deadliest wildfire in modern history. Each fire is only about 30 percent contained. Here are ways you can help.
