Well this is lame news for a Monday — Sharon Marsh and Nick Furphy, who met and gave us hope on Married at First Sight this year, have split. The news comes just eight weeks after Sharon relocated from her native Perth to be with Nick in Melbourne. She spoke to New Idea about the decision to leave Nick, saying she couldn't shake the feeling she'd made the wrong move.
"I love Nick, but after moving to Melbourne eight weeks ago to be with him, I soon realised that I'm not in love with him," she told the magazine. "I've shed many tears over this, because I really wanted it to work. I wanted the butterflies and roses — but I also needed a deeper love. I had a constant ache in my chest and it didn't feel like I'd made the right decision. I missed everything about home — my dog, my sister, my parents."
As for Nick, he told the publication he's devastated. "It broke my heart," he said. "I started to shake and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I fell hard and fast and gave it my all. It has made me lose my faith in love a little bit."
Nick and Sharon were the only couple to last more than a few weeks after the show ended on TV — no doubt this split will be a blow to the fans who were holding out for a MAFS engagement!
