We were delivered the black screen of doom and sadness on Wednesday night, when Network Ten left us hanging with a dramatic "To be continued . . . " after Matty Johnson stopped the rose ceremony half-way through episode five of The Bachelor. On Thursday, we were put out of our misery: Matty stopped the ceremony to pull an anxious Sian aside, and to decide on their fate then and there.
Telling Sian that her doubt in their potential future made him think about it himself — and that he doesn't see them going anywhere. "If I'm going to be completely honest," he said, "I think with the kind of doubt that you've got at the moment, I can't really see that anything between us is going to come to fruition here." Sian took it like a champ (probably because she felt the same way, TBH) and they parted ways amicably.
Afterwards, a fired-up Matty explained to the remaining bachelorettes what had happened. "She was really questoning what was real and wasn't, and even questioning things that I was saying — if they were genuine or not," he said of Sian. "I just want to say to you ladies that I'm not some puppet that's being told what to do." Roger that, Matty! See his farewell chat with Sian above.
