Maureen McCormick Is the Funniest Woman on Television Right Now
Hit show I'm a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! launched its first-ever Australian iteration on Sunday night and we've been glued to the TV ever since. There's something so gripping about watching celebrities do awful things — better still when those celebrities are as funny as one Maureen McCormick. The Brady Bunch actress was the "international star" in the much-hyped line-up of stars, and while at first we weren't sure about casting, we're now eternally grateful. Maureen is one of the sweetest, funniest, quirkiest celebs we've seen in a while. She's already straddled openly-gay comedian Joel Creasey (while rubbing his muscles and saying she "needs them now"), and she's already asked Chrissie Swan to be her shower buddy. She cries a lot, she calls baboons "bam-boons" and she practises yoga poses every morning in the most adorable way.
Last night she suffered through the nightly Tucker Trial, where chosen contestants have to do something gross in exchange for meals for the group. Voted in by the public (along with cricketer Merv Hughes), Maureen had to swallow some seriously revolting stuff — we're talking earth worms, fly pupae, cockroaches (all of which she managed) and a raw pig's nose and lung (both of which she passed on). The result? Some epic screen time. Scroll to see Maureen's hilarious reactions last night!
