House Rules Is Back! Meet the 2015 Contestants
Heartfelt home renovation show House Rules was the runaway ratings success last year — after a less-than-stellar start in 2013, reformatting the program seemed to work a treat in 2014. Having left a big impression on millions of viewers, anticipation was high for this year's iteration and, if the first week is anything to go by, we're in for more tears, tantrums and total reinventions than ever before.
The premise of the show remains the same: six teams of two travel the country renovating each other's houses week by week, making over an entire home every seven days. Each house they tackle comes with five non-negotiable rules teams must abide by — whether it's keeping a certain piece of furniture or sticking to a certain aesthetic — and each team is given a designated area to work on. Each week the couple whose house is being renovated sit out and then judge the renovated home section by section, with one team eliminated a week. The real soul of the show, though? It lies in the contestants' reactions when they see their completely made-over homes for the first time.
At worst, every team walks away with a completely renovated home, free of charge. At best, they're the last team standing and they get their mortgage paid off in full. The stakes are high and so are expectations — we can't wait to see what happens! Host Johanna Griggs is back, as are judges Wendy Moore and Joe Snell — be sure to tune in on Channel Seven.
