This morning Melissa Doyle announced she’s leaving Channel Seven’s popular breakfast show Sunrise after co-hosting it for 14 years. She’ll stay within the Seven family, moving on to be the face of a new primetime news initiative, and Weekend Sunrise co-host Samantha Armytage will replace her as David “Kochie” Koch’s new on-air partner. Mel said, “I’ve cherished every moment and every experience on Sunrise. It’s with that experience and support from the team that I am able to take this next step. I’m honoured that the Network has given me this incredible new opportunity and I am unbelievably excited about the new challenges ahead.”
For any show like Sunrise that features a regular group of people who viewers are welcoming into their homes every day, casting is key. With that in mind, we want to ask the Sunrise viewers if they’ll still be tuning in every morning to ‘Brekky Central’ without Mel.
