Matthew Broderick is coming to your small screen. US network NBC has just given the green light to Beach Lane, a multicamera comedy that follows a celebrity author (Broderick) hired by a millionaire to manage his Hamptons newspaper. Sounds like a funny premise, but the most promising part of all: the series is being handled by 30 Rock executive producers Lorne Michaels and Marci Klein.
Does this mean that Broderick could find Alec Baldwin-sized success? We know that the guy can do comedy (need I really remind you of Ferris Bueller's Day Off?), but with the exception of a few small films, you don't really see much of him nowadays. Beach Lane could be just what he needs to launch himself up the Hollywood food chain again. Just ask these five actors who pulled off similar stunts.
