It was Hollywood’s best-kept secret: on Tuesday Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban revealed that they had welcomed a daughter, Faith Margaret, into the world on Dec. 28 via a surrogate. The star couple attended the Golden Globes the day before (and the Critics’ Choice Awards on the weekend) but stayed mum on the topic. Now they’re opening up and sharing their joy. In an email to The Australian Women’s Weekly editor Helen McCabe, Nicole — their February cover girl — wrote:
. . . after Faith Margaret was born on December 28, a healthy 8lbs 9ozs, we spent New Year on cloud nine. We have been having a wonderful bonding experience with Faith Margaret . . . We feel truly blessed.
People reports that Faith’s middle name comes from Nicole’s grandmother. And her first name is self-explanatory. Says a friend of the couple, “They never gave up faith they’d have another child together.” The arrival of Faith also means that Sunday Rose, 2, is a big sister! We hope Nicole and Keith bring their little one Down Under soon.
