2010 Oscar Prediction: Best Director

This category is one of Oscar's biggest—and toughest to predict. But for us it's a race between the exes and the sexes.

Our Favourite: Katherine Bigelow, The Hurt Locker
This race is clearly coming down to exes Bigelow and Cameron, and each director has taken different honours so far. In Bigelow's corner: the BAFTA, Critics' Choice, the Directors Guild of America trophy, as well as timely subject matter that's received critical acclaim for its style and substance. Plus, if she wins, Katherine would be the first female to win a Best Director Oscar. Ever. It's enough to make you stand up and cheer, no?
