We Tried to Get White Rose Scoop From The Bachelor Host Osher Günsberg
Osher Günsberg was there for Tim Robards last year when he navigated his way through dating 25 women in the hope of finding love. He's doing it again as host of The Bachelor in 2014, this time acting as a facilitator for romance and confidant for Blake Garvey, the tall, dark and handsome man at the centre of the show.
Not much is different with Osher's role, and like last year, he won't interfere too much so the magic can happen. We caught up with Osher at Network Ten's studios this week to talk about whether he still keeps in touch with Tim and his lady love Anna Heinrich, what he thinks of this year's group of bachelorettes, and whether he'd spill anything about the white rose.
POPSUGAR Australia: Are you still single?
Osher Günsberg: Yes.
PS: I asked you last year if you'd consider going on The Bachelor, but I can't remember what you said.
OG: Here's the thing: I think I know too much about how the show's made to go on The Bachelor. I know too much about how it works.
PS: Do you still keep in touch with Tim and Anna?
OG: I do keep in touch with Tim, yeah.
PS: Did you pick Anna from the early stages? Do you feel you have a good radar for love? Could you be a matchmaker?
OG: I picked Anna on the first night. The moment they clapped eyes on each other, I was like [click], that's it.
PS: What was it about Anna?
OG: It was the lipstick on the teeth.
PS: Have there been any vibes with the bachelorettes this year? Because you're not there when it happens—
OG: I am there when it happens.
PS: You see them meet as well? I don't remember seeing you on TV.
OG: I'm not on TV when it happens. No I'm in the control room watching it, on like 10 cameras. I've seen that moment . . . To be fair, last year, because we were all very new to this, I spotted Anna, and I'm not going to say I absolutely picked that's how it was going to end up, but when I saw the lipstick on the teeth, I thought it was going to be hard for anyone else to top that. That is a fantastic moment for both of them. I thought it was brilliant. The thing is though, this year, there were three moments like that. Not necessarily lipstick on teeth, but these women know what they're doing! They go into this with their eyes open, they go into this and they've all watched last year, they know exactly what's going on. So they're very, very good at making a good first impression.
PS: So from the promos I can gather there's a girl who comes in on roller-skates, there's a girl who says Diana, like the princess, and there's a girl who brings a drink. I feel one of those could be it.
OG: Well 24 of them show up. When they meet, there are a couple of fantastic moments.
