Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated The Pacific premieres 8.30pm tonight on Channel Seven. The 10-part WWII epic, which cost a reported $200 million to make, follows three US marines fighting in the Pacific. Considering Hanks and Spielberg tackling WWII pretty much means guaranteed success (witness Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers), I, for one, am expecting big things from their latest venture. And with Channel Nine now up two-nil in this week's ratings races—first Underbelly, then last night's Top Gear—Channel Seven will be hoping for some television-magic. So, tell me: will you be tuning in to The Pacific or tuning out?
