Highlights From P!nk's The Truth About Love Sydney Concert
P!nk’s The Truth About Love tour rolled into Sydney this week after kicking off in Perth at the end of June and going through Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane. Playing at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Tuesday night, the energetic singer launched into her set quite literally, by bursting onto the stage attached to bungee ropes, then jumping and twisting around as she sang “Raise Your Glass.”
It was an opener that set the tone for the rest of her show, which featured lots of tracks from her fifth and sixth studio albums, Funhouse and The Truth About Love, a medley of the late ’90s hits that made her a star, and covers of Chris Isaak's “Wicked Game” and Cyndi Lauper's “Time After Time.” The impressive acrobatics that have become her concert signature were especially apparent during her performance of “Sober,” which involved her spinning in and around an egg-shaped cage with some of her back-up dancers, and when she flew around the arena at the end of the show while singing “So What.” P!nk also had some very cute fan interaction moments, the highlight being when she addressed a 7-year-old boy holding up a sign that asked if he could marry her 2-year-old daughter, Willow.
