Plain Jane Host Louise Roe Talks About Melbourne Cup, Australia and Fame

Pop Exclusive: Plain Jane's Louise Roe on Australia and Fame

So we’ve already established that Louise Roe is a modern day fairy godmother. At this rate the closest we’ll get to witnessing Louise work her magic is by tuning into her show Plain Jane, which starts tonight on MTV at 8:30pm (set your alarms!). But that doesn’t mean there’s no chance of her transforming some Aussie Plain Janes! She spent time in Melbourne last November for the Melbourne Cup and would love to come back, so read part two of our interview with Louise (part one is here) for more on her Aussie connection and how her life has changed.

You came to Australia for the Melbourne Cup in November. What else did you get up to while you were here?

I did! The Melbourne Cup was the best day ever! Then I flew up to Sydney and did some TV appearances, interviews and shoots, and in my down time I caught up with mates in Bondi. I lived in Sydney for a year when I was 19, it was the first time I’d been back, so all those wonderful memories flooded back. The only place I didn’t make it to was Catalina in Rose Bay — that’s where I had my first meal when I moved over, and it was incredible. Gives me an excuse to come back again I guess!

Any chance you could film some Plain Jane episodes in Australia?
I would absolutely love to get my hands on some of your shy Sheila’s! Watch this space . . .

Thanks to the show you’re much more recognisable. How has your life changed now people know who you are?
I’ve been lucky that anyone who comes over is always very nice! They are usually fashionistas who want to talk trends . . . although when my parents visited recently, my dad accused me of paying random strangers to come over and say how fab my show was. Thanks Dad.

Plain Jane airs tonight on MTV at 8:30pm.
