Rachael Taylor Makes First Public Appearance Since Split

A radiant Rachael Taylor stepped out for the first time since her dramatic split from Matthew Newton last night in Melbourne. She’s back in Australia for the premiere of her latest movie, Summer Coda and the sparkly star joined Alex Dimitriades, Angus Sampson, Kimberley Davies and Nick Giannopoulos on the red carpet. She dodged questions about her breakup but did allude to the past few months saying:

I am really close to my girlfriends, I'm very close to my mother and I have found the support of my girlfriends to be the most important thing. [I understand] interest in my private life, or my formerly private life, and I don't want to be dismissive or ungrateful because I do feel people in Australia have been quite supportive, but tonight I am here to talk about Summer Coda.

Rachael launched an apprehended violence order (AVO) against her ex last month and Matt is still undergoing treatment at Sydney’s Northside West Clinic and trying to rebuild his career.
