Will Rose Byrne Win the 2010 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series or Miniseries?
2010 Golden Globes: Will Rose Byrne Win for Best Supporting Actress?
Rose Byrne is the third Aussie nominated for a 2010 Golden Globe and to be perfectly honest, she's not our strongest chance at a gong. Recognised for her supporting role on theTV series Damages, Rose is, at best, an outside chance.
This is Rose's second Golden Globe nomination for Damages—her first was in 2007. With none of last year's nominees returning, you would assume this category is wide open. But you'd be wrong. The real race is between Big Love's Chloe Sevigny and Jane Lynch (Glee). It's Chloe's second Globe nod, her first came in 2000 for a supporting role in Boys Don't Cry, and being the quirky, big-name star that she is, Chloe should appeal to the slightly left-of-centre, popularity-seeking Foreign Press. Plus, with Supporting Actress in a TV or miniseries not considered by the Oscars, Globers can afford to be a little daring with this award. Then there's Jane, who, with her role on the uber-popular Glee, may just find the show's commercial success enough of a reason to land her the gong.
Who do you think has the best chance of taking home the Best Supporting Actress prize?
