Shane Warne: "I Hope People . . . See the Real Me Rather Than the Headlines"
Shane Warne really surprised us during his time on I'm a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! As much as you try not to, having a preconceived notion of the guy is a given — his every move is covered by the media, so we're constantly fed ideas about what he's really like.
On the show, though, we saw a completely different side. "The real me," as Shane told us. He was charming and cheeky, of course (no denying he's a guy who likes to have a good time), but he also showed he has a huge heart, there's no bullsh*t, he has fears and phobias like the rest of us, and he was willing to give everyone a chance before judging them. He was one of the best on the show, and his popularity with his fellow camp mates was proof.
Interviewing Shane, you get the sense that he's sick of having to defend himself to faceless critics. He gets passionate when talking about truth in journalism and the way his words are twisted — the Hugh Grant story is one such case, see below — so here's our chat with charismatic Shane, just as it happened.
