The Veronicas Debut Their Anti-Fur PETA Ad in Sydney

Rock duo and twin sisters Jess and Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas were in Sydney today to debut their ad for PETA. Wearing T-shirts that read “Mean People Wear Fur”, the sisters posed with a poster of their ad, which shows them holding up dead skinned rabbits (fake ones) with the familiar caption “Here’s the Rest of Your Fur Coat”. While they didn’t strip down and go the naked route such as celebrities like Eva Mendes, Khloe Kardashian and Sophie Monk, they did slam fur-using designers, with Jess calling them “ignorant” and saying, “It is unnecessary and it is unacceptable.” The Veronicas decided to get involved with the animal-loving organisation after seeing graphic video footage of animals being skinned alive at Chinese fur farms.
