In the new film Chronicle, three high school friends stumble across a mysterious hole in the ground, jump in to investigate, and emerge with new superpowers. As Matt (Alex Russell), Andrew (Dane DeHann) and Steve (Michael B. Jordan) play around with their newfound strength and ability to move things with their minds, they slowly realise their powers are taking over their lives — and everything from their pranks to their descent into darkness is documented on camera.
One of the lead roles is played by Australian actor Alex Russell, whose popularity is set to soar thanks to the buzz surrounding Chronicle. Alex was recently in town with the film’s director, Josh Trank, and we sat down with them to talk about how Alex got involved, the filming process, and what inspired the story. Watch our interview below, and check out Chronicle when it arrives in cinemas from Feb. 2.
