Jack Vidgen has been incredibly busy since winning Australia’s Got Talent on Tuesday night. He’s had back-to-back interviews (including one with PopSugar) and has also been spending lots of time in the recording studio to get his debut album out by August 19. One of AGT’s judges, Kyle Sandilands, chatted to the 14-year-old for a segment that aired on Sunday Night yesterday, where he addressed topics such as the Facebook death threats, where he gets his talent from (his granddad was Johnny O’Keefe’s lead guitarist), and the controversy surrounding how much he wrote of his first single “Yes I Am.” Jack clarified that he collaborated on the song with vocal coach Erana Clark: “I did a songwriting course with her, and I’ve written a few songs with her. ‘Yes I Am’ was one of them, and I sort of wrote the lyrics, and then I took them to her studio, and we had the producer — I didn’t write the music, I can say that, but I did write the lyrics.” Kyle also asked that other important question: is there anyone special in his life? While there’s no one at the moment, Jack laughed, “I think there’s always time for a girlfriend.”
