Video Preview of ABC1 TV Series The Slap Based on Christos Tsiolkas Award-Winning Novel

First Look: ABC1 Brings Christos Tsiolkas' The Slap to Life

ABC1’s new drama, The Slap, premiered at the Melbourne Film Festival last week, and now we have our first look at the upcoming TV series. It’s an adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas’ best-selling, award-winning book, which centres on a group of family and friends after a man slaps the child of another guest at a barbeque. The aftermath of the slap affects all the characters in different ways, causing them to choose sides, reassess actions, values, relationships and more. With a star cast that includes Melissa George, Alex Dimitriades, Jonathan LaPaglia, Sophie Lowe and Essie Davis, The Slap looks like it will make for some compelling TV viewing, and no doubt fans of the book can’t wait for the series to start (ABC1 is yet to release an airdate). Take a look at the preview below (it includes adult themes, frequent coarse language and sexual references) and tell us if you’re looking forward to The Slap.
