Chris' Parents Rejected Him on National TV and Our Hearts Absolutely Can't Take It

Every so often in reality TV, there's a moment that takes our breath away — the reality literally becomes too much to bear. Monday night's episode of Bride and Prejudice delivered one of those moments and, honestly, we're still not over it.

Chris, who's gay, is one of the stars of the show. He's thrilled to be getting married to the love of his life, Grant — but his parents are deeply opposed to same-sex relationships. As a result, their relationship with Chris, their only child, has suffered to the point where they barely communicate anymore. Still, like all kids, Chris wants approval from his parents. So he put aside his nerves and flew to Queensland to ask them if they'd come to his wedding — or at the very least, meet Grant.

Having met his Jehovah's Witness mum and super conservative father in the episode prior, we knew it wasn't going to be a great time for Chris. But it was just so much worse than we anticipated it was going to be. Watch above, if you can bear it — and send Chris some love, will ya?
